Transplantation is a marvel of modern medicine.
A partnership between the Emory National Primate Research Center (EPC) and the Emory Transplant Center resulted in belatacept, a medication that offers tremendous benefits for kidney transplant recipients worldwide by preserving their kidney function for the long-term.
According to Dr. Chris Larsen, director of the Emory Transplant Center, "the spirit of collaboration is what makes these things possible."
