Scientific and Service Divisions
What do creating an AIDS vaccine, developing treatments for drug addiction and gaining a better understanding of genetics and environment have in common with producing safer drugs for organ transplant recipients and improving understanding of social cognition in humans? They are all key research programs taking place at the Emory National Primate Research Center.
The Emory Primate Center (EPC) is part of a national network of dedicated teams fighting diseases from Alzheimer's to Zika and improving human and animal health and lives worldwide. In partnership with the National Institutes of Health and others, the National Primate Research Centers conduct and enable studies that make breakthrough discoveries of causes, preventions, treatments and cures possible.
Our researchers work within the scientific Divisions of Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychiatric Disorders, Developmental and Cognitive Neuroscience, Microbiology and Immunology, and Neuropharmacology and Neurologic Diseases, as well as the scientific and service Divisions of Animal Resources and Pathology, and serve as resources for other researchers throughout the world.
