Kim Wallen, PhD
Biography
Kim Wallen, PhD, focuses on the interaction between hormones and social context on the development and expression of sexual and sex-related behavior in nonhuman primates and humans. He and his research team are currently investigating sex differences in the developmental effects of neonatal amygdale lesions on social and neuroendocrine development in rhesus monkeys. The Wallen lab also investigates hormonal therapies for post-menopausal women using a rhesus monkey model. His human research also investigates sex differences in response to visual sexual stimuli by using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and eye-tracking methodologies.
Dr. Wallen was one of 39 Association for Psychological Science (APS) members to be named a Fellow in 2010. Election as a fellow is an honor APS members bestow upon their peers. APS honored the new fellows for their outstanding contributions to the science of psychology in the areas of research, teaching, service and application.
